You could probably say something like "a warm time was had by all." The nice part about an intimate (small) recital space is the warm, family-like feeling you get from all around. Most people were both participants and watchers. Some were in multiple performances, all depending on the number of classes they were taking.

This was the first adult-class recital for the school although all ages attended and the children helped sell cookies during intermission. The entire school seemed more like a large family picnic with great performances by the picnicers.
